Why Blackpool

Blackpool Pleasure Beach alone hosts a mass of attractions such as the internationally famous Pepsi Max roller coaster and the new favourite, Infusion. Also you'll find the spectacular Arena where you can witness the most breathtaking ice skating show, Hot Ice. Blackpool boasts three magnificent piers, each one with its own family amusements, and a mini fair ground on the central pier, complete with the Big Wheel.

Blackpool Promenade Refurbishment

Blackpool's seafront is looking better with each coming month. This is due to the regeneration of the famous Blackpool promenade from South Pier to North Pier. There are plans for an outdoor entertainment arena, and so the promenade could soon become the people's playground as Blackpool press headlines have previously stated.

Blackpool Zoo

Blackpool Zoo is a definite must see, it makes a great family day out with over one thousand, five hundred animals. They also welcome educational groups and cater for wheelchair users.
Blackpool is also home to one of the UK''s most popular aquariums, the Blackpool Sea Life Centre. With roughly fifty displays and one thousand assorted sea dwellers, it educates as well as fascinates.

A 22m extension to Blackpool's Tramway when completed, will form a convenient route from North Pier to Blackpool North Railway Station. Running along Talbot Rd, the project is set to be done and dusted by 2019, when it will be opened for use by the public. The work covers the extension plus a four star Holiday Inn and office/retail units to let. There will even be two new Flexity2 trams to help with the expected additional passengers. The tramway represents a huge step forward for Blackpool, and will provide more jobs and a stronger, improved economy for the town. The current tramway is used by over 5 million people already!

Blackpool is a centre point too with easy access via bus or tram to places like Fleetwood, with its fascinating museum and various events throughout the year. This includes the Beer & Cider Festival in May, and the Fleetwood Carnival in June. Thornton Cleveleys, which is on the way to Fleetwood features events such as the Easter Craft & Gift Fair in March, and the annual Cleveleys Car Show in June. You can walk from the Hotel Libra to Thornton Cleveleys in just 90 minutes. You could also visit Lytham St Annes Fairhaven Lake, a saltwater lake with boats and gorgeous gardens.
