Blackpool Attractions close to Hotel Libra

One of the major attractions to include in your visit is the The Blackpool Tower; a 5,18ft tall cast iron structure dating back to 1894 and located a few minutes walk from the hotel. If you happen to be visiting Blackpool between late August and early November be sure to visit Squires Gate and Bispham where the Blackpool Illuminations are annually displayed and paint the local streets with colour. Blackpool Sea Life Centre
Another family attraction well worth a visit is the Sea Life Centre where both adults and children can learn new facts about our varied marine life. This is also a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Learn about the life of the seahorse, sharp-spined and thornback rays and the octopus along with its three hearts!
Children will love the aqua tunnel with its 180 degree view of the tropical fish and the chance to see sharks with a length of up to eight foot swimming right over your head. Brave further in and you`ll even have the chance to explore a sunken galleon, meet pirates and discover their tales of life at sea.
From a water world to a world based above ground Blackpool zoo is a great family day out. Built in 1972 and with a recent large investment to enhance and develop the area this attraction offers the chance to see animals such as Giraffes, Apes, Penguins, Gorillas, Rhinos and Elephants. Here, you`ll have the opportunity to listen to experts talk about these animals, their care and their unique behaviours.
Shopping in Blackpool
The Hounds Hill shopping centre is centrally situated in Blackpool, 10 minutes walk from Hotel Libra. Also worth an afternoon’s visit is a car trip to Fleetwood’s Freeport Outlet Centre.
